Commemorating New Jersey’s 350th Anniversary in 2014

The official commemoration in Hudson County of the 350th anniversary of the State of New Jersey is scheduled for Saturday October 18, 2014. The location is the Student Union building of NJCU, 2039 Kennedy Blvd in Jersey City. Free parking will be available and the NJCU cafeteria will be open. A wide range of historical items will be displayed by the many participating organizations. Several prominent local historians will speak on items that have relevance to New Jersey and Hudson County. Their names will appear here when arrangements have been made final.

The Lincoln Association will participate in the commemoration in 2014 as per the invitation below from the official website. News of the ceremonies and functions in our area will be posted here on our website. The official website for the State is www.officialnj350.com which will list State wide events.

The New Jersey Historical Commission invites communities, schools, businesses, organizations and individuals to join in the celebration of New Jersey as the best place to live, work, visit, vacation, and do business. There are many ways in which to participate, from simply adopting the official anniversary logo throughout 2014, to developing new programs and events that highlight New Jersey and its unique heritage, related to one or more of the themes of the 2014 celebration. Information on how to submit an event to be included on the NJ350 calendar will be posted soon, along with announcements of upcoming programs, resources, and initiatives. Help make this 350th anniversary a year-long celebration that explores our rich heritage and showcases the very best that New Jersey has to offer.
