On Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at 12:00 Noon at the statue of Abraham Lincoln at the entrance of Lincoln Park, Kennedy Boulevard and Belmont Avenue in Jersey City, First Vice President Ms. Ann McGovern will host the monument ceremony. The ceremony will include the reading of the winning essay of the annual student essay competition, followed by the awarding of a prize by the Honorable J. Leonard Hornstein, Superior Court Judge of New Jersey (retired), who is also a past president of the Association.  Dr. Jules Ladenheim, another Past President of the Lincoln Association, will deliver one of President Lincoln's memorable speeches.

The ceremony will conclude with a placing of a wreath at the statue.

Later that evening at 5:30 PM, the Association will host the One Hundred Forty-third Annual Dinner at the Casino in the Park, Lincoln Park, Jersey City. The featured speaker will be Professor Bruce Chadwick of New Jersey City University. A noted author, his most recent work is on the History of 1858 and causes of the American Civil War.
