On Friday April 24 2015 at 5:00 PM, the Lincoln Association in conjunction with the City of Jersey City installed a plaque on Owen Grundy Pier at Exchange Place commemorating the four times Abraham Lincoln was present in Jersey City. The date happens to be the 150th anniversary of the date Lincoln’s funeral train stopped in Jersey City. He was present three other times in his travels. Owen Grundy Pier is at the foot of Montgomery Street. The area was a rail and water terminus at that time.
